Dental crowns are versatile restorations that cap teeth which are chipped or cracked, worn down, discolored, or otherwise aesthetically unpleasing. They also provide protection for a tooth after a root canal and restore dental implants. CEREC dental crowns are made from highly durable and strong material, and are able to withstand the normal forces of biting and chewing. Like any cosmetic dentistry treatment, we design dental crowns to look like natural teeth and mimic them in strength and function.
Utilizing CEREC technology we can design, mill, and bond dental crowns to your teeth in our own office, in one visit! CEREC dental crowns can be made in a single appointment, eliminating the need for temporaries and follow-up appointments. For busy patients and dental emergencies alike, CEREC in Cambridge and Easton, MD, offers a convenient and comfortable solution.
CEREC is a digital process from start to finish, and that includes taking impressions of your teeth. Unlike traditional impressions with trays and goopy impression materials, we use digital technology to take 3D images of the teeth. This not only improves patient comfort, but the accuracy of treatment and final fit of the dental crown itself. These digital images are transferred to the software we use to design your custom restoration. From here, the digital file is sent to our in-office CEREC milling machine, where your dental crown will be fabricated while you wait comfortably in our office. When the crown is ready, we will make any final adjustments, then bond the crown securely to your tooth. In just a few hours, you can go from disliking how your teeth appear to feeling confident in a brand new, beautiful smile!
